You’ll need to take a dirt road good for 2 wheel drive (no need for 4 wheel) to get there. Once at the ghost town, you will find mining equipment, the hanging tree, mines, graves, old cabins, foundations, and the saloon. There’s also areas where you can try your luck at gold panning. This area is located within a National Forest which means you and your canine friend are welcome to walk or hike on almost any of the trails (the Pacific Crest Trail is the exception).

To get there from the northeast corner of Big Bear Lake, take Hwy 38 east and turn left onto Van Dusen Canyon Road. Once on this road, you'll travel about 4-5 miles on a dirt road.
