5 Golden Nugget Rating System
Below is a descriptive guide line for your Big Bear cabin review. Please keep in mind these ratings have been developed without bias in order to help our guests understand the level of expectation in cabin condition and amenities.
It is important to note that ALL Big Bear cabins come fully equipped with a kitchen, utensils, and a variety of pots/pans for allowing the convenience of cooking at home for cost conscious travelers.
1 Golden Nugget – Slim Pickens (Value Minded)
Emphasizing lower price for the budget minded. These units are priced for the vacation traveler looking to stretch their budget. Limited amenities, older unit with dated décor yet clean and functional. May not offer TV or other entertainment amenities common in most Big Bear vacation rentals. Please review the specific amenities listed on the Big Bear cabin rental you are considering. All units are perfectly suitable to vacation lodging.
2 Golden Nuggets – Miners Choice
Basic & Cozy, clean, standard units with basic amenities at economical pricing. Decor and amenities can be dated, but not necessarily. These units can offer TV, DVD, VCR, and other amenities but they are not required at this rating. Please review the specific amenities listed on the Big Bear cabin rental you are considering.
3 Golden Nuggets – Golden Rule
Clean, comfortable, above basic & cozy amenities. Nicer accommodation, pleasantly decorated. Not necessarily with updated electronics. Does offer 1 or more TV(s). VCR, DVD, and BBQ. May include one or more of these above standard amenities, extended cable channels, internet, hot tub, pool table, washer/dryer, or other extra amenities above “Miners Choice.” Please review the specific amenities listed on the Big Bear cabin rental you are considering.
4 Golden Nuggets – Lucky Strike
All the comforts of home, with more amenities included. Above average in décor. Well decorated with newer furnishings. Guests can expect multiple TV(s) (may include extended cable channels), one or more TVs with VCR and/or DVD, BBQ (charcoal, gas, or propane), fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, washer & dryer, hot tub and/or pool table, may include some newer electronics options as in updated flat screen TV(s) with possible HD, internet, IPod docking stations, stereos, etc. Usually in more desirable locations, lakefronts, lake views, walk to the lake, walk to ski, ski-in/out, close to the village. This is the ultimate in luxury Big Bear accommodations. Superior furnishings and top of the line electronics. Fully equipped kitchen including the latest in appliances and amenities. Most preferred locations, lake front, ski-in/out, etc. Usually offering landscaped and well designed exterior yards
